How do I turn the LockSmart padlock on?

Press the button on the bottom of your LockSmart padlock until you will see the green LED indicator light come on. Your padlock is now switched on.

Difficulty connecting to your lock?

If your device is having trouble connecting to your lock, we recommend checking you have Bluetooth enabled on your device. Close the LockSmart app and reopen – this will disconnect and upon reopening reconnect Bluetooth with your lock.

How do I open a LockSmart padlock if there are no keys?

LockSmart operates using Bluetooth. Simply download the app using an IOS or Android device with Bluetooth 4.0*, and pair it with LockSmart and start enjoying the benefits of keyless Bluetooth technology!

How close to me does a user need to be to share a ‘key’?

One of the many advantages of Bluetooth technology is you no longer need to cut keys nor physically hand them over to shared users. You can simply and instantly share ‘virtual keys’ through Bluetooth technology.

This means you could be holidaying in Spain, and you could give someone access to your lock in Australia.

I no longer want a user to have access to my lock. Can I remove them?

Yes you can remove any user instantly. This is a great feature of Bluetooth keyless technology – no physical keys to track down nor collect!

What is the name of the app to download?

LockSmart

It is the same name for both the App Store and Google Play.

How will I know if my battery is low?

Once connected, you can see how much power remains within your battery at any time. Your LockSmart app indicates the percentage of battery remaining, displayed on the top of your screen. You will also be given reminder prompts for re-charging your battery.

How do I open the padlock if my battery loses power?

Plug in any standard USB cable or use the cable supplied, and connect to a power source such as a power supply, car charger or laptop. Within just a few minutes, you will have enough power to unlock.

How long will it take to fully charge the battery?

To fully charge, it will take approximately 60 minutes based on a 2 amp power supply.

How many users can I share my locks with?

You can share each lock with as many as 50 users.

What can I do to help maintain my lock?

Like any padlock, dust particles may rest on the padlock after time. It is recommended padlocks used in extremely dusty or corrosive environments be cleaned every 3-6 months

To clean the lock use pressured air to clean the shackle opening.

To help avoid the lock from sticking in freezing conditions, sparingly lubricate the shackle opening with lock oil, as you would probably have previously done with other padlocks. Never use dry graphite or a silicon lubricant as this can interfere with moving parts. Once oil is applied, open and close it several times to evenly distribute the lubricant.

I’ve lost my mobile device. What can I do?

LockSmart is server driven, not device driven.

All you need to do is use another compatible device, download the app, login and authenticate your details, and you have access again.
